About Paul Hastings Design
Paul Hastings has been practicing residential design for over 30 years.
Paul is an 11th generation descendant of the mentor-protégé lineage from Thomas Jefferson, Latrobe, Strickland, Walter, Hunt, Furness, Sullivan, Wright, Fay Jones and Vernon Reed – having studied under Reed in a graduate internship. He believes the function, materials, details, and spaces of the new home should please the clients and satisfy them for years to come. In order to design a home that meets all of the clients’ needs he develops a comfortable relationship that is based on trust and mutual understanding.
His projects are located in some of the most livable locations of California wine country, San Francisco bay area and both the east and west coast. The building sites inspire and guide the design, taking advantage of views and sunlight and maximizing the enjoyment of outdoor spaces.
As a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Architecture followed by extensive travel to view and learn from architecturally significant designs, he has developed a portfolio of work that is of superior design along with accurate architectural details essential for graceful, well-proportioned homes of classic design. This is accomplished by a patient and attentive collaboration with the clients in a process that can be exciting, dynamic, satisfying and fun.
